      PRIVACY NOTICE

       

      The University of Warwick (which is providing “CamPus Eats” service) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

       

      This privacy notice sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  We keep certain basic information when you visit our website or app or do business with us and we recognise the importance of keeping that information secure and letting you know what we will do with it.

       

      PERSONAL DATA WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

       

      In collecting and further processing your personal data [information that relates to you] the University is a controller of your personal data. 

      We process your personal data for the purposes of administering and facilitating the delivery of your order under Campus Eats at the University of Warwick.  This is obtained through the following:

       

      • Personal data that you provide by filling in the registration form on our website or app.
      • Details relating to your purchase(s)
      • Personal data that you provide through any manner of correspondence with us or in relation to Campus Eats including a record of that correspondence. (such as emails)
      • Persona data that you provide us if you report a problem with our website or app.
      • Personal data containing feedback that we may ask you to complete from time to time for research purposes such as marketing (although you do not have to respond to them).
      • Details of your visits to our website and app including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs, operating system, browser usage and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

       

      LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

       

      The lawful basis for processing your personal data is the performance of contract.

      IP ADDRESSES

       

      We may collect information about your computer or mobile, including where available your IP address, operating system, traffic patterns, related website information and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to any third parties for marketing, advertising, auditing usage or other promotional purposes. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual and we will not collect personal information in this way.

       

      COOKIE

      We want to ensure that the Campus Eats website and app are efficient and reliable for you to use and we use cookies to do so.

       

      A cookie is a small file which is placed on the hard drive of your computer when you visit our website (directly or via our app) to obtain information about your general usage of it. We use cookies for purposes which may include:

       

      • identifying you as a User to Campus Eats;
      • eliminating the need for you to re-enter your login details;
      • enabling you to move more easily around our website and app;
      • tracking your use of our website and app to better develop both of these in accordance with your requirements; and
      • building up  an  anonymous  profile  based  on  your  browsing  patterns  across  our  website and app, which enables us to make content available to you that is more relevant to your interests.

       

      You can delete cookies from your device (such as laptop, mobile phone) at any time. Bear in mind, though, that if you delete them, any settings such as a stored username and password will have to be reset when you next log in. You can also alter your browser to prevent your computer from accepting cookies. These settings are usually found in the "options" or "preferences" menu of your browser.       WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND SHARING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

       

      The data that we collect from you will be shared and stored by one of our supplier(s) at a data centre within the United Kingdom. 

       

      Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, our supplier will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access or loss.

       

      You will be responsible for keeping the password used to access your account under Campus Eats website confidential.  We ask you not to share a password with anyone.  If you need to reset your password at any time, you can do so by going to your Account Details on our website.

      • To ensure that content from our website and app is presented in the most effective manner for you
      • To notify you about changes to our services.

       

      DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

       

      We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

       

      • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

       

      LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

       

      If you leave Campus Eats website or app via a link or otherwise, you will be subject to the privacy policy of that website provider.  We have no control over that policy or the terms of that website so please carefully check the policy and terms before continuing to access the website or providing any personal data to them. We do not accept any responsibility or liability if you leave our website.

       

      Campus Eats does not process any payments or store any payment information itself.  When you go to make a payment on our website or app, you will be transferred to a third party payment service provider and no details will be recorded by us.  Any payment transactions made with our provider will be encrypted and subject to appropriate security measures.

       

      YOUR RIGHTS, UPDATING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

       

      You may exercise rights in respect of your personal data.  These are the right of access to it, to rectify inaccurate information, to restrict processing or erase personal data, to object to our processing of it and to transfer it to another controller.  If you wish to exercise a right please contact infocompliance@warwick.ac.uk

      CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

       

      We keep this policy under regular review.  Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page.  Please check this page regularly to keep up to date with any necessary changes.
